Marikina's Rehiyon-rehiyon Festival

Marikina hosts dozens of events during the course of the year. One of the most colorful and perhaps most grand is the yearly Rehiyon-rehiyon Festival which is held during the month of December.

The celebration is lavish enough to merit the closing of Marikina's main thoroughfare and lasts for several hours.


The event is actually a competition where well-choreographed lads and lasses dance and represent the different regions in the Philippines, hence giving the festival its name.
